For journalists
We commit to a 24-hour response for journalists on numbering data questions. Tell us your deadline and we will work to it. What we can offer:
- Verification of numbering data claims against dated official source files.
- Context on area code assignments, overlays, relief planning, and related NANP topics covering the United States, Canada, and Caribbean jurisdictions.
- Datasets and figures with file dates, citable under our CC BY 4.0 licensing.
What we will also tell you, unprompted: this site is operated and funded by GreatNumber LLC, a commercial marketplace for phone numbers (see Ownership & Funding), and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by NANPA, Somos, the FCC, the CRTC, or any regulator. For official positions, contact those organizations directly.
Error reports
Error reports are acknowledged within 2 business days and handled under our Corrections Policy, which includes a public corrections log.
What we do not respond to
- Requests to identify the current carrier or subscriber of a specific telephone number — assignment data does not establish this (see Methodology), and we do not offer lookups of individuals.
- Requests to alter data or conclusions for commercial consideration.
